    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

It's on it's way. My local saw shop is three locations strong and they don't stock not a single one! It'll mostly get used for milling, and the odd bad assed big sucka!

Well my 540 is getting traded in. 5 bill trade in against......................a 880. Sweet. I don't think I'll be running that one handed. Except for maybe in the cut.

The thread is getting long Carl but I posted about a problem with my intake boot, it needed to be replaced and I was of the understanding that it was a known to Husky problem. Fwiw I could always make mine die as you described with a throttle blip, one of the things I didn't like about it. I...

Wow, quite a few bold statements and assumptions being made about dealers. Willard, my dealer is Savoy's in Vernon, probably pushing 30 years atleast and they don't sell boats, tractors, quads, or otherwise. They sell saws and lawn equipment. They sell saws to all over the province too, for...

I'll let you know what they say anyways, just to tempt you.

I would like nothing more than to give Willard a good deal on this saw and for it to work well for him and earn a lot of money. I'll pm you Holmen when my saw shop gives me the numbers. I was there this afternoon to pick up a 460 I had given up on and apparently the one who'll call the shot on...

Mean? Damn I'll tell y'all the same thing I tell my wife and daughter, "If you didn't leave your feelings lying around I wouldn't trample all over them". Lol. I appreciate a feisty conversation as well as anyone else. In this scenario I feel certain Willard knows plenty more about saws than...

Umm, you never actually asked me that, just stated that it should have been sent back. They called their Husky rep about it, and I never heard anything back on it after that. The defective boot was replaced, something else was done as it was puking fuel out around the carb area, they reset it...

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

It would seem though from my poll thread, that it is still the most widely used climbing saw? And by Willards theory then from your whining and bashing of it you must just not know how to maintain or set it. Lol.

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

I haven't forgotten. I've got I think four or five 200's with various 'issues'. But never had any issues like this 540 right out of the box, never not once. One 540 for me runs like crap has never been anything close to reliable. So yah I slam it, I spent the money took the chance and the...

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

You must have missed my last posting about taking it in. They're assessing it for trade-in or consignment. I'll let you know what numbers they tell me and it's yours if you want it. I guess I took exception to your inference that the saw wasn't maintained or 'adjusted' properly. I'd be lucky...

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

Well I've been being kind. My 540 has sucked big time in comparison to even my early 201t, which is a dog. I've got a couple 46's pushing 20 years old that have never been to the shop, seemed to have maintained and adjusted them just fine myself. The 540 even when it was 'working' imo doesn't...

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

I'd be interested to know........except mine's at the shop getting the kill switch fixed and 'appraised' for consignment or trade in. Dropped it off this afternoon.

My 540 is still sitting on the bench, hasn't been used since I last posted about it.

Does it need a signifigant warm up time before running properly?

    Husky 540 cutting and climbing

I prefer to turn my saw off if I'm re-positioning much at all. I'm not fond of a running saw hanging. The warm-up nonsense is bs to me. Big difference from how I'm used to running with a 200.
