No way man. The first run of 201's sucked. The revised ones rip and are a hell of a lot more reliable imo than a 200. I was so sick of f-cking with 200t carbs. I'm not sure what you called Jay and I up there, but if the nazis were in charge Id have let them know where all the inbreds were...

Get a new 201. Stihl sorted it out imo and now they rock. Why use anything else?

Couldn't even buy the 201 upgrade here, even with the part number. That saw got dropped out of a tree and I was actually happy that it did. The new 201s rip and are very reliable imo.

The new ones are a lot better. I've got a old and a new one. Night and day the difference.

Seems any of the 200's I have around running easily outperform my 201 or 540. In power and also in convenience/useability. One start pulls, no waiting on warm-up, no stalling, and lots of power. I'm guessing a pro ported 200 is gonna just humiliate a 201 or 540.

You've run 200's and hold this opinion?

I'm gonna have a slew of 200s rebuilt and ported. I'm pretty positive they won't be messed up though. I'm done 'expirementing'.

Hopefully more jiggling doesn't causer it to fail again. Odd that it happened to my saw and yours too. The Treehouse must represent a pretty small sampling of the 540's sold. I wonder how many kill switchs have screwed up?

Ha. No kidding. stupid design 'feature'. Mine just isn't getting used at all. I would never buy one again.

I'm not messing with mine at all while it's under warranty. Still haven't got mine to the sawshop yet.

My 540 is rippin pretty damn good now. What's the good word on modding these saws? What sort of gains?

Yah that price for the private sale seems steep. Who warranties it?

You mean in Sweden? Here it's on the shelf at local saw shops since mid January, I'm sure there's more than one bulletin. I've heard of a software update too. This bulletin seems like a bit of an important one as my saw wouldn't run. They told me it was a three week run of the production that...

Yah. It was something like that. Where a fuel looking line mounts to the intake. They showed me pics of it that they'd taken for the warranty work but then didn't have to send.

I'm looking forward to trying this saw out running properly!

Got mine back today. I'm surprised none of the gurus know about my problem. Apparently there's a bulletin out. The story I got is three weeks worth of production have intake issues with the 'impulse?' Line not being mounted properly on the throat/plate of the intake. Thus fuel supply lacks and...
