I don't think the engine is the problem now other than that rpm is too high. Said it before too. I think there may be an auto feed problem and the throttle linkage may need adjusted. I'd say the auto feed parameters may be set incorrectly or the unit itself is bad.

It's a little pain. Half a dozen bolts and fine tune. Tightened bolts, check clearance again. Rinse lather repeat

I do not, sharpen chains all the time. Under a hundred bucks a set. Yes, that's the catch. Adjusting the anvil to .040 clearance on both sides is a pain. I can change knives in 20 minutes if I don't have to adjust anvil. Not worth my time.

I don't sharpen them. Flip and replace.

Totally agree, part of why I want to get my shop emptied out and my stuff in it!
