    thats how we do it, steel for rigging and aluminum is for life support. that way we never wonder if this is a rigging biner or not

    i dont run that setup squish, but maybe lose the pulley and run the tail through the "D"

    i do it all the time cause i often redirect through another crotch on the way down, never know when thatll add to much distance for my rope

    always a knot here. never got the tail stuck. on occasion ive asked a groundie to untie it but as soon as the end got to me i re tied it before i let it drop. i dont see why you wouldnt have one but thats just me:)

    mines light weight and short, and i was just razzing squishy for using a term i dont. my micro grab is adjustable one handed most of the time. do like butch said or stand up and in, when your weight comes off a little just thumb the cam open till it whereyou want and let go. piece of cookie

    rarely do i use a steel core. yes i hate fighting pitch and its never an issue to adjust mine, even when the flip line is sticking to the tree:D

    i use the petzl micro grab, 1/2" rope and 6-8 foot flip line. i hate long flip line tails. i keep a long wire core in the shop for big trees but rarely use it. often ill set a tie in high enough to where my regular flip line will work. whats a lanyard:P?
