Wedging over small 20 ft Redwood log

Giving the 335T a try. I'm not crazy about it. It's ok for limbing, but I find it pretty under powered. It's pretty worthless when I get to chunking wood down. Normally I run a 550XP with an 18" bar as my small climbing saw. Thing just kicks butt!

The saw leash is a 4 foot dog leash. Cheap, effective, bulletproof, and yes my saw can swing and bang around a bit. Always done it that way!

Yep. This stuff has the best feel, and works really well for me. I use a 7/8" Stable Braid when I get into bigger stuff (6'-7' and over). After almost 40 years of wire-core, I gotta say I don't miss the stuff one bit!

The flipiline in the video is made from 5/8" Sampson Stable Braid. Its oversized (feels like 3/4), has amazing hand, rolls like a champ, and works great with the large rock exotica rope grab. Killer set-up.

My work is a little different than most of you guys, and I am trying to figure out what is gonna make a good vid that most will enjoy. I am wrecking trees for lumber , so part of my job is also the skidding and bucking logs. I am gonna start filming the whole job, then edit it down. Should I be...

Wedging over small 20 ft Redwood log

The Fir did have a small back lean, so I just beat it over. In a mild back-leaner or side-leaner top with long leggy limbs I will often remove them. The amount of leverage they have can be massive. I have been pounding over tops and trees for a long time, so I have a pretty good feel for what I...
