Scuba tanks... Yes... Hydrostatic Has to be done once every 5 years I think. Visual inspection has to be done every year. They take the valve out and do a visual and if it's got any condensation / rust in it they tumble it to get it clean again.

Part of scuba diving is annual inspections for tanks to be sure they are safe. One of our long time old timer dive shop owners felt it was overboard and too demanding of the gov't. He made his own sticker to go on the tanks he inspected..and he did a LOT of tanks...he had the main dive shop in...

I have a bando buddy that swears by it...he has been cold swimming for years. He's kind of crazy sometimes, too. I have to be careful what he tries to get me into. As I get older, I am more comfortable like this (from the very first GTG):
