Yep, red clay..and when it is dry it is superhard. I used an electric drill-auger to help bust it up.- pantheraba

You did the right thing...I spent hours on the ground planting pots of flowers in the hard GA clay today at my folk's house. I can't believe anything can grow in some of the dirt we have. It sounds like you had a very fine day. 8)- pantheraba
