    t540 xp

After some perseverance my 540 is coming good again. I did a full reset via the software then let it idle for about 20 mins. Without turning it off I them went into blocking down a pine tree. I reckon this was the time the saw came good. It's been 3 weeks now with varying temperatures and no...

When they plug it into the computer even if there are no error codes ask them to run the "fuel valve test" under the diagnostics tab. Make sure they have a crisp ticking sound come out of the carb area. One of the pros of the software is that you can reset the wot position of the carby...

Just plugged my saw into the Husky software. The new version of software they installed is ver 1.1.8. Very happy with the saw now. After the upgrade i let it idle for about 5 minutes then did some long rips for about 5 minutes. The saw is starting nicely and revving nicely when cold. Definitely...

Mine got upgraded firmware and has about 5 hours on it. It seems to have fixed the problem. The dealer had to get the new program from mother H as there wasn't any service notes on the dealer login

I've just been told that there is a firmware computer upgrade available for the early t540s. Mine are getting done tomorrow. Apparently it takes a few minutes and fixes the problem of bogging down when the saw is cold. I'll try to get revision numbers from the husky dealer

Hey squisher, I'm keen to hear how the first hour goes for you. I have two 540s now. With the second one I thought it was faulty. I had to tickle the throttle for about 30 mins before I could go wot without stalling then it was like a switch was flicked and it worked revved no problems.

Unfortunately the laptop with the diagnostic software dropped its guts so I couldn't get any data. We have had a couple of warm days over 40 degC. So far no problems. Restarts in the canopy was sweet as. Probably the only thing I found was if I ran the saw dry it was a prick to get going...

I know some of the guys in Queensland an Northern Territory get problems with 3120's in the heat. They get much hotter than we do in Sydney. It would be interesting to hear from those guys

Willard, We had about 36 deg c today, in the shade. I only did about a tank and a half with the 540 but it seemed fine to restart when it was hot. At one stage i left it in the sun long enough that i had to put gloves on to hold it but it still restarted fine. Probably the only thing i noticed...

After reading Willards post i rang the dealer to have a chat about it. This time i got a young fella who really new his stuff. I explained what happened and he said yep, its a known thing that happens for about the first hour of use then it goes away. There is even a bulletin from mother H on...

He definitely said four minutes, he said that they are instructed by mother H to do it as a part of the warranty process. Im thinking ill just use the saw for a day and then see how it starts cold the next day. If this dealer is right then I'm wondering if anyone has had to do this with their...

There are no more tuning screws as its an auto tune. The dealer said its standard procedure to auto tune the saw by allowing it to idle for a minute, them at half speed for a minute them full speed for four minutes. He said it was important that for the four minutes the saw is at wot. Ill give...

Finally scored a t540. It was only $100 buck cheaper than the 201 in Australia, but it did come with a 2 year commercial warranty. Out of the box it feels good. Acceleration is far better than the 338. It came with a 12 inch techlite bar but definitely feels like it would handle 16 inch. Only...
