Well, I just did some math: I bought a POS 6.5T three years ago for 17000$. Had the tranny redone twice + fuel pump once + fuel pump another time (pump was on warranty, but not time) + a whole bunch of other minor problems + all the time and energy spent = close to 30K for a 2000 3500HD. All...

Well just got back from test-driving the 2013: really a nice truck. He said price is negotiable and will include inspections and tune-up, plus it still has 3 years on the factory warranty. Also, I'm about to call his finance guy, he said he might have some interesting offers to lower monthly...

Oh ya, my biggest chipper is a 90xp, around 5k. Other than that I'd haul a dump trailer with wood sometimes. We do have some hills around here, depends which direction you drive.

Ya there are some nice trucks down south, but you have to figure +20-25% for exchange and import fees. Also, one of my important criteria is the truck has to be under 10k dry weight, so no CDL.

So, bad bad news, my truck crapped out on me today. Damn 6.5T won't hold it's pressure, apparently most likely cause would be crankshaft bearings. Anyway, time for a new truck. I really want a cabover this time, preferably with an aluminum box. I'm going to try this one out in the morning...
