I think Stihl hit a home run with the 462. I have no opinion on the 500i yet.

I sold my 462......bought a 500i. No other reason that to have a stock saw to compare ported saws of the same model too. I've ported about 20 462s and feel like I have the "recipe" pretty well dialed in.
