    Flipline Adjusters

Yea, splicing's cool. My interest is more in wire rope and 3strand than the other stuff(well, tenex slings are cool too). I think I like knots for stuff like hitchcord, and I'd have trouble trusting my work when there's an invisible component. I've pretty much 'got' splicing as it pertains to my...

    Flipline Adjusters

I'm a little jealous of Treesmith's treemaster lanyard. I think that would make a fantastic flipline in ⅝". That's what's gotten me closest to learning how to splice. 3 strand is pretty easy, but the hard lay makes it a little more difficult.

    Flipline Adjusters

I'm not doing this a ton, so I haven't really had the need so far. I've done one white pine(winter), and was anticipating my stuff getting trashed, but I made out pretty clean. My dead spruces were pitchy as hell inside, but the outside wasn't bad. If the time comes for a pine lanyard, I have a...

    Flipline Adjusters

It's a ClimbRight that came with my climbing set... It's fine. I don't have any complaints about operation that aren't inherent in the design, but I really like being able to easily let out some line under tension, and I like the smoothness of a pulley/prusik for drawing line in. I like 8mm...

    Flipline Adjusters

I don't like the idea of *any* climbing gear that needs a lot of attention. There's enough stuff going on that has to be done correctly without wondering "Does my rope have my back??". I was just thinking about fliplines today, and wanting to setup a prusik on my wirecore. You guys that swap...

    Flipline Adjusters

I haven't rewatched the video, but I remember it as being an ad for a fancy computer controlled truck that emphasized the precise automated tracking and ride. Assuming all that's the case, the only difference between splitting on the trucks, and a stable base on the ground is wind pressure...

    Flipline Adjusters

What are you all using? My flipline came with a mechanical adjuster, so that's what I used, but my secondary lanyard is fitted with a prusik, and I'm pretty sure I like that better. Smooth operation, and easier to adjust while under tension. Never tried the Becket, but that looks kinda unwieldy...
