I have a foot treadle grinder also, but I haven't used that in awhile. What I usually do is drive a splitting wedge into my fallen oak, then clamp the grinder to that for use. I have an electric bench grinder in the basement, but I don't like using it. For one, I don't like being in the...

I don't get many fumes. I grind outside using a handcranked grinder. I get more toxins from the average day at work than I would from several years of grinding wedges.

That'll work cleaning up the butt, but sometimes you(or at least I do) need to remake the bevel.

Those old wedges will cleanup pretty well on a grinder(outside is better). If you're bored, you can whittle them down with a knife. Interested in hearing how you like the hardheads. They have them at the sawshop, but I don't fell enough for plastic wedges to be a big problem, though I do chew...

That's pretty interesting. Cool you were able to save the bees. Well done!

You got a lot of stuff in that little jeep! Do you keep the load covered at all? That's a lot of money packed away back there.

Why nervous? You were young, made a bad judgment call, and got schooled the hard way. It happens. I've lucked through most of my mistakes, but they could have just as easily put me in the ground. Good video.

I lose my enthusiasm for doing whips after about 2. The guys here turned me on to superglue. That seems to hold it together pretty well. Electric tape it, cut through the middle, then superglue the ends.

I'm not putting my saws through professional use, but I've had zero issues with my Mtronic saws. I wonder if it could be an age thing? My oldest was made in 2017. Perhaps a newer firmware/construction works better than the original releases.

Interesting about the plastic on top. I didn't know it would even come off. I have the 2511, and use it on the ground more than anything. It swings around, gets caught on briars, and generally gets beat up, but no problems so far. My biggest problem with the little echos is the small nose safety...
