Wasn't sure where to put this. It's a hot deal, but we don't have a hot deals thread. It's not much of an article, but this is the closest I think. Need an FFL in MD :^( https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/04/you-can-now-buy-a-flame-throwing-robot-dog-for-under-10000/?comments=1

It's gotta be in the mountains. It's also gotta be field to finish, cause that's a story you can sell. Even better if you use old tech like water to power equipment. I'd get Kaveman to write my sales copy. Include a clump of raw wool with every item sold. Land's cheap in the mountains, cause...

I always thought a cool gig would be a field to finish sheep farm. Get a nice spot in the mountains, raise sheep, and turn them into wool products, all on the same property. Might not get you rich, but I think it could be a good living, and you get to be in the mountains.

It's annoying that both companies listed are doing via (cr)apps only. There doesn't need to be a special program to deliver web assets. There's already a perfectly suitable technology called a "web browser". A website can be easily updated, and accessed with any browser. No bloat in the programs...

She was ok. It's the thought that counts. I dumped a bunch of stuff in her lap, and I would've been amazed if she could make sense of it. It's hard to do modern(ish) mechanicals via long distance, especially when it's likely an electrical/computer problem. The impetus for seeking out how coils...

Though I haven't read it, this book is probably good. Educational while being entertaining. Both writers have a science background; Kelly more so than Zach, so it isn't just random hacks writing about stuff. I occasionally post SMBC comics(Zach writes them) in the 'funny picture' thread...

Any of you seen The Expanse tv series? That looked like a more realistic view(minus the outlandish overall plot) of a space future than is typically seen in media. Not nearly as appealing as Star Trek.
