Just a point of clarification. Stable Braid (made by Samson) is different than Super Braid (made by Wall). Super Braid's cover is ALOT tighter (basically unspliceable). The tighter cover is great for wear restistance, but it compromises the ropes strength in a knot. Couple "big" lines.

I've taken a 2300 or 2700lb (I forget) nugget on new 3/4" Stable.

Brendon, if your bro is decent at running the ropes, I would rig that nugget down (arrow) on 1/2" without worries. I've auto-roped pieces on 1/2" (porty up in the tree with me running it) that I had to cut in half for the mini to pick up with me on the back. I haven't used anything but my 1/2"...
