    82 yards with a Bow?

The last one was dropped right at the edge of the orchard. I went to move it the next morning, but the flies were a bit much. I doubt I've shot a dozen in the past 5 years. We used to let them have free roam, enjoyed their presence. Then we put in ornamentals, fruits, and other...

    82 yards with a Bow?

Under the Mississippi predation laws the meat can't be harvested. While I'm not a stickler for the rules, the last time I cut one up, I used it for dog food. I don't dislike deer meat, but it's not worth the effort to me. I thought about calling Treesmith, but he lives 30 miles over, it was...

    82 yards with a Bow?

Ya'll don't have predation kills in your area? Aside from not being in love with deer meat, I don't see how it's waste or a shame. Would you stop and harvest road kill?

    82 yards with a Bow?

No cutting for me. Can't "profit" from a predation kill.

    82 yards with a Bow?

I did have to wait a second or two to get it to walk from inline with our water hydrant (36-42" tall water faucet).

    82 yards with a Bow?

Frickin deer are carrying our place off here. They rut on the ornamentals and eat the fruit trees. We chase them off nearly every night, tonight I got a bit fed up. 92 yards/12ga/2.75" 00 Buckshot

    82 yards with a Bow?

Would it be true that at a greater distance the game would be less likely to duck the shot/react to the sound?

    82 yards with a Bow?

I would imagine the biggest factors at that distance are an accurate range and reading the wind. I have taken a few deer with 40-45 yard pistol (Glock) shots in "my day." 80 yards is irresponsible for those hunters, but for others it would comfortably be in their skill set.

    82 yards with a Bow?

Taking an 82 yard shot with a bow isn't crazy. Taking a shot at a range beyond your level of proficiency is. If they practice at that range, there is little viable reason they should have missed the target completely. I'd agree with writing a letter to the editor, if you are interested...
