i climb SRT a good bit. however, i find approaching trees with two ropes gives a lot of options. especially wide spreading trees. it makes for better work positioning and can be beneficial in getting out to the tips.
when i was in Norway, that was a complaint i heard from pretty much everybody. they didn't seem to mind the beer, but that was my only complaint with Norway.
They should work. 16 strand is often very bouncy in a stationary configuration. It reminds me a little of riding a mountain bike with full shocks in the city. Which has both its advantages and disadvantages. A lot of people hate bounce but it is possible to use the bounce to your advantage.

I remember that throw line event well too. I Had it double bagged in the highest crotch but got too hasty and got myself in a tangle.
You all are my mentors here. You have all been such a big part of my life over the course of my career. intricate saw work in big wood in the PNW is something I only can imagine, I would look pretty green and awkward out there no doubt about it! I love seeing the fabricators on this place...
Absolutely not. The rope wrench is an all around tool. I know many people that love the runner but still ride a wrench at work. Working with a hitch is irreplaceable.
