The detroit river gets pretty choppy, its pretty thrilling. Like being in a washing machine. I get really disoriented. Getting a mouth full of water on your in breath can be a bit of shock as well. You have to roll almost on your back to get a clean breath it seems.

Last weekend my wife and participated in a swim race. Emily did the 10 k. Won her age group at 2 hours 27 min. I did the 2 k. Won my age group (there were 3 of us) 44 minutes.

I am amazed how much water she drinks too. She drinks gallons a day it seems. Like it helps her equalize with the water.
