i am thankfully not suffering from ocd but i check/observe my gear very carefully. are you saying that putting the lanyard around the hook doesnt make sense when your disconecting at some point anyway to hook up the chain? :)

ok, thanks for the feedback. to my knowledge i am not allowed to install anything above the hook. need to recheck that. maybe a heavier duty strap with a shackle (with pin) and a big steel masterlink behind the loadbearing masterlink?

i was wondering if that is a legit (enough) way to tie into the crane? its a multi sheeve hook so everything above the actual hook is covered in grease.
