    Unclip the lanyard throw it around the stem. You are just hanging there anyways not really advancing up the line so no need for tending.

    I made that comment because I have never cared for a chest harness. When I was climbing I made it up to my tip and switched to drt to work the tree. Get up to the tip unclip the lanyard, lanyard in, switch to drt, easy. It worked for me maybe not to others.

    No walking is smooth as glass with the HH you just need a means of tending the HH as you advance up the line. I use my lanyard over my shoulder instead of a separate chest harness, less stuff aloft. And drt with a HH is very simple almost fool proof.

    Low and slow is best for learning any new technique. But the rope walker method is really nice. The hitchhiker with a foot and knee ascender is the bees knees.
