    Make a bight with the knot at the apex of the bight, give yourself about a foot and a half and swing/smack it onto something hard like concrete, and sometimes that will help loosen it.

    Make a threading tool 3/8" bar stock small hook bent in one end and a T-handle at the other end with a gradual curve over it's four foot length. Or carry a shovel.

    Cable chokers works real well, and last a long time in soft dirt. If you have a lot of rocks or pavement to drag over chain is best. Rope for dragging in either case will not last long a small handful of drags at best. I like the FSE(ferrule slide eye) cable chokers sometimes called cat chokers.

    Stablebraid is an proven line and what i run most of the time but the price point of Maple Leaf's high tenacity double braid is appealing and virtually the same specs as Samson.
