Yes armbru84 has them and I think av80r has posted about one. They are $300 I think? $150 to recoat. The corner wears off, more if converting from round a lot

    Stahl's logging supplies

I pulled it out of my nether regions…sorry…fine grind is irrelevant for work chain. @Tree09 i despise trad grinding wheels, mainly due to the grit everywhere, unless i want to shape the wheel for a special grind. CBN is awesome. Never had a lick of trouble and hardly bother to clean them or my...

I have a Baltic and a wood turner’s wonders The WTW is less $ I think and coarser so faster metal removal with less heat fixing rocked chains, but maybe a less than ideal edge? I could never tell. I got a std Baltic which is a mixed grit and it’s good…I had them make me a fine wheel and it...

    Stahl's logging supplies

I like @huskihl ’s grinder. Not expensive and has an auto clamp. Can’t remember which it is. My stihl USG is nice but they are kinda expensive. Mine is old and I got it for less than a new cheap grinder but it still works well.

I’d sharpen a bunch of 20” chains for a lot less than that. Chillin in my shop in the AC…it’s relaxing. Being productive without a lot of effort.

    Stahl's logging supplies

I agree on the time to spin loops probably not being worth it for 20”. By hand saws you mean up in the tree top handles? I have stihl full chisel for that, can’t remember if Oregon has a full chisel LP. Call Madsen’s, 2 for one pricing on loops. They’ll know on the full chisel too. They...

    Stahl's logging supplies

I reserve stihl for the harder stuff, or the Oregon for the cleaner.

    Stahl's logging supplies

I have not gotten around to durability testing but I am reasonably sure Xcut is about on par with Oregon or better but not as durable as stihl. I think @huskihl has. I’d break and spin for that many loops….

    Stahl's logging supplies

Xcut can be sharpened at least a couple times with just a raker file. Kind of handy.

Here is a durable grind…not a lot of hook, the edge is well supported.

    Stahl's logging supplies

Generally, folks say oregon for racing and stihl for work. I have found it to be true in the nasties I cut. If you cut mostly clean, oregon is just fine. I rarely have to sharpen my "up in the tree" saws. How you sharpen makes a difference too.

Man that fb group is a joke, and the admin is a jackwagon… Xcut has interesting geometry out of the box, and is generally regarded as the fastest out of the box chain.
