Actually, the Antal rings are roughly the same price, and by the time you add shipping costs they are more than getting them at treestuff w/ free shipping. Ultimately its immaterial, all the XRRs I have were provided to me for my review. The new XL 38/28 ring is made exclusive for XAS so you...

I have no idea... Most likely for setting remote rigging points for heavy winching and whole tree rigging, as a ground level winch redirect.

Well I was late to the game with this (Tom Hoffmann got his done first). When I received the big ring this was the first thing I thought of. An overhand knot in 1/2" rigging line easily passes through the larger ring and catches on the smaller ring. Just like a plain old R&r friction saver I...

I dont see a need for it in my daily climbing, I could have used it in the AR event of the comp though (had it been allowed). The way it works Randy, is it is a secured footlock prusik. Once you footlock up, you weight the prusik and put your DRT system through the ring, yard up the drt system...

I saw a ton of guys use a secret weapon setup in the AR at the Ohio TCC... I was tinkering today and this is what I came up with:

Well I havent used it, nor will I since its not for me, but here are my thoughts: I have a Large 28/20 XRR on my rigSAVER and it works great, it retrieves fine but you need a steel ring (cut mine off an old harness) its probly 30mm OD and 4mm bar stock. The XRR also adds some functionality in...

Here is the retrieval end of Randy's uSAVER. The XRR, in addition to performing the choked retrieval, also allows you to use the saver in traditional basket setup or with a equalized TIP setup. 10mm OP

This one is for a friend, I will call it the Redi-Rig. It wont be used with a pulley or a prusik. It uses the small XRR and the 2.5" pensafe ring. Its essentially a rigging oriented R/r friction saver. It can be set from the ground with a throwline or in the tree remotely using a rigging line...

That is a coffee table I made. I have (mis)matching ones. One is a scrabble board laid into the table and the other is 2 layers of pennies, the lowest is flush edge to edge and the top layer is random so the whole surface is textured. Both have a heavy layer of poly-acrilic on top.

The problem is trying to get the thimble in the eye and have it be tight enough that it wont fall out... the reweave brummel worked fine for me. IT looks a bit loose upon inspection but it has certainly handled the loads without sliding or tightening. With the mobius, above, you set the eye...

    Splicing X Rings

Just an update: I have been using this thing a lot lately. I really like it. It is quick, bomber, and easy on the rope. We have been negative blocking wood down on it, catching tops, etc. Working down the spar Duane was using like it a R/r friction saver with the rings spread apart like you...

Can you show the entire setup? I didn't understand the adjustment. The brummels look strange to me, but I am no expert.
