Its 2014. We do heart surgery through a tube and a tv screen, alter thought processes with pills, make bullets hit 10" groups at 1000 yards out of hunting rifles, saw max lumber from a log with a computer, but cant make a good climbing saw.......

I don't think warming up a modern saw with a heavy finger is detrimental at all. Its just one of those things that makes me flinch. I cold seized a dirtbike once.

Im the same. I don't like to just rev trucks or anything up with no load on the motor. My diesel mechanic was fixing my last chipper and ran it wide open without the disc spinning for a few minutes and it gave me the willies. I don't know why? I guess I am quirky. I despise when guys start a saw...

He cut downward through an upright log. That was the end of that. He was delighted. Told me to thank my buddy for telling me the trick I told him. You are who he was referring to. I ran the saw one day. It wasn't right. It was the saw I ordered and was tight for coin when it came in and didn't...

In fact, I just solved junk saw problems. Big brand introduces junk and wont stand behind it (ex 201), blow it up under warranty. Everyone. They'll put a good saw out fast, guarantee it.

My buddy bought a 540. It was a turd. I recommended Willards remedy to reset the saw. It blew the saw up. He got a new one. The new one performs well.

My dealer has my 540 waiting on me to pick it up. Its going to take some getting used to. My Johnny 2139 has run flawlessly for years now. Ive only ever had to tap the air filter out.

Squish, Im used to my 2139. I guess it wasn't a weight issue, just a different balance.

Heavy in my hands. Fondled one the other day. I don't know if it was the weight or balance but it seemed heavy as shat.

I remember it being a good saw. How good is fuzzy because Ive had a handful of those saws. If Im not mistaken I ran that with a 16" bar like all my 200's and that one woul torch off 14" diameter hardwood rather well. That one I think got away from me and cut my lanyard too.

You're going way too far back in my memory. Some narrow kerf something or other I think? I don't even know. Second question. What did I use before 2011? I run Oregon chain typically. 2011 was like light years ago. lol

Thank you Fi. I've never used semi chisel on a climbing saw. Used it in times past for dirty work ground saws.
