    Shot me a Bear

Yes. Reloading manuals are used to determine loads, cartridge overall length and most every other aspect of hand loading. They publish a variety of loads for any given bullet weight and primer/case combination. SAAMI lists maximum pleasures for a given load. Velocities and accuracy vary gun...

    Shot me a Bear

:? Kill 'em with authority as opposed to just kind of killing them:P I know whatcha mean. It's nice to drop 'em where they stand, both ethically as well as practically. I hand load the 7 Mag aand others but haven't hunted with my own loads in about 5 years. The best target loads are seldom...

    Shot me a Bear

Yeah, not the best bear round... Must have done some fragmentating though. If I were hunting bear only and not deer/bear I prolly would have been shootin' 175 grain Nostler partitions.

    Shot me a Bear

I was snacking on some bear jerky this evening and though I had a bone fragment, then I thought I had broke a tooth. Upon further inspection, I think this is a bullet fragment. Looks like part of the jacket. I've bitten down on lead shot in birds but never a bullet fragment....

    Shot me a Bear

It's wildlife management. 1700 bears are harvested (killed by hunters) annually in CA. DFG does herd population studies on deer and other big game to determine the number of tags to issued for a given zone. Bear tags have been fixed between 1500-1700 if my memory serves me,,, Apparently that...

    Shot me a Bear

Got a call from the meat processor this afternoon that the meat is done, 144 lbs of finished product. Mostly ground (about 70 lbs) a bunch of sausage, a few roasts, stew meat and jerky sticks. I like the bear that I've eaten but like anything the taste can vary depending on the habitat and...

It was about 7 mm in the back and 1/2-9/16" in the neck and shoulder. I think the prep was good, we'll see.

    Shot me a Bear

T.D. I was thinking I would use it as a rustic decoration of sorts. Sort of a reminder of the enjoyment of the hunting experience...... Here is one of the bruin partially skinned with his hind legs removed. Looks kind of like a buffed guy with a really long torso.

    Shot me a Bear

Well, I'd hoped to add to the deer hunting thread but, not yet I guess. I passed in a little 2x2 opening day, (which my nephew ended up shooting) and shot this fella on Sunday at about 5:35 PM. My brother and I kicked up three deer at about 9500 feet in the Toiyabe National Forest while...
