Nice! Nozzles or contact tips? You said tips so I'm gonna assume contact tips. That's awesome man, I used to go through 2-3 a day doing ss. That hard wire eats tips like none other, and doing short circuit stuff requires a perfect tip. Most places around here got the pipe worx tho, so pulse...

That it does, but the steel nowadays tears itself apart from even a water quench. Too much manganese and no sulfur. Metallurgical advances have come along way since the days of crucible and Bessemer steel and wrought iron. Cryogenic hardening is used too nowadays on some steels.

Np, very handy trick sometimes. Much cheaper than buying a tap, and will work quite well. Very very useful in the larger sizes, because taps that big are very expensive and unless you own a machine shop, are used a few times on a project then never used again. Another cool and similar trick is...

You take a cutoff wheel, and manually score out the thread so it looks like a tap. New Engine for splitter

I never do because that makes it much harder to pull or swap it to something else. I recently had to swap a bearing on a mower deck, John Deere homeowner zero turn, and I about shit myself when I saw that's how they attached. With a self tapped screw, you are relying on the al to hold a screw...

    New Engine for splitter

Yeah that's the best thing to do, along with oil or fogging spray in the cylinder and sea foam in the fuel lines and carb. In reality, here's how it normally goes. Guy 1: do we got a generator on this damn job? Guy 2: yeah in the trailer, but it doesn't have a pull start thing because we stole...

Honda builds some baddass little motors that handle abuse like nothing else out there. What's wrong with the existing motor? How did it fail? Working on small motors isn't that hard depending on what's wrong with them, and I think too many are just replaced when a new gasket our something like...
