My 500s will oil a 36in bar with no issue. You don’t see it slinging oil but it’s enough to keep the chain clean. As long as I keep clean bar grooves then I never have a problem with it. Sure you could turn it down some @Noodle. What size bar are you running on it?

Hello! We don’t have any 462’s but we have three 500’s. When I fill both gas and bar oil to max and I run all of them at max oil output (pin pushed in). It seems to me that all of our saws (201, 251, 261, 500, 661) will run out of gas right before the bar oil runs out. Maybe yours has a better...

I know most automotive engines operate around 500 degrees, some even hotter. Only the coolant runs around 185-220.

That’s crazy! Is there any type of safe operating temperature for a chainsaw engine? These last couple months I’ve been noticing all of the saws seem to be running hotter than I remember in the past. In all fairness I’ve gotten a lot better with my sawing and awareness of them but it still seems...

Yeah its going to be something like that. We have to do some maintenance on the saws in the morning before we go back to the clearing job. At the same time of the saws doing this I’m having some misconduct issues. Already been addressed just one of them hard seasons of being the boss

I was using the orange bottle. I went to the grey bottle and both of the 500’s burned up since the switch but we had one go out before that but that was unrelated. Brand new 500i with a sticking decomp valve and wouldn’t stay running. Within the warranty time the top end went out so free...

We just own a good bit of stihls. I like some of the echo saws. What I believe happened was that the saw was ran too hard right after start up and caused a four corner seizure or the saw ran lean for some reason. Until Mopar opens it up we won’t know. Right before this one of my bosses 500’s...

I don’t but it’s nice to have somewhere I can go get parts or service from. The only place that sells husky around me is a Home Depot and they don’t normally carry the pro ones. I’d be interested in getting one eventually. Maybe one of the older more desired models with some upgrades. Right now...

I was noticing that on this clearing job. Normally I’m climbing/bucket truck work but every couple months we normally end up with a huge clearing job and I was having to clean out my 261 multiple times a day

I don’t have the option of husky in my area. There isn’t a single professional dealer in this area for them

It’s moparmyguy on ope. He has been a builder for awhile and ports saws. One of my guys burned up my 500i and while asking about advise on ope he graciously offered to fix, port, and custom exhaust mod my 500i. All I have to pay for is parts and time. Nutball had a saw from him and a few other...

Oh I love our 500i’s! The 440 and 460’s are all project saws for me right now. Still can’t wait to get them running! I’m going to be ordering some 7’s and 8’s real soon. I’m pretty sure most of them are due for replacement. Another beginner question. Is there any special methods for cleaning...

On the topic of spark plugs and 500i’s. What ngk plugs are recommended for what saws? I see there is a bpmr5a-bpmr7a (if my memory serves me correctly). I have stihl saws from a 201t,251,261,261c,440, 460x2, 500ix3, 661. Where should I use certain plugs?
