A bike pump is light, cheap, easy, and always full. 25 pumps, and I'm good. Co2 seems overkill. $ .o2

Try different bags. If its loose, try wadding. Closed cell foam is available at Joann's Fabric store, etc. I'd just order Weaver 12 oz. Step 3 https://www.treestuff.com/store/images/pdf/Final%20APTA%20Instructions.pdf

Benn, is that going more for a lob than a line-drive shot, at 1/1? Are you punching through at that psi, or just dropping it over the target limb? How many ounces and what diameter line? Thanks.

12 oz weaver, definitely broken in. Ring end down, no wadding, no poke stick. I put mine in the end of the barrel and tap the butt of the APTA on the ground or my boot's safety toe. I listen and feel for the bag to get to the bottom of the barrel. The wadding that Bonner used, IIRC, was closed...

What is the safe working pressure on an APTA? I haven't gone past 160 psi.

You can definitely make one cheaper than buy one through a retailer. Bonner offered design plans up initially, before TS picked it up. I bought mine to support the innovator. Haven't touched my Big Shot since. I broke my handle (my fault), but haven't replace it. NBD. Shoots the same for...

One little wrap and one bit of finger tip in the wrong spot...OWWW. This was actually, as I think more, right- hand throwning, and left hand "fairleading" the throwline. Just my way of throwing, don't know if others do similarly to keep the standing end of the line out of the way when...

Grabbing a throwline can be dangerous to your fingers. A burn is no big deal. A weight coming to a near-dead stop when the throw line half-hitches you finger, big deal. Probably three months before it stopped hurting. Possibly long term damage I may feel later in life.

What is the state of laser-sighting with the APTA. Didn't you do something, Gary? Someone else, too? I think that would help a lot of people embrace line-setting tools.

I see the practical side of it. I shot over a 120' dead fir the other day, a la Dave from Montana, pulling my line down into place, snapping off a few branches in the process, but no worries, it was going away. APTA, FTW! I'll interested in the butterfly valve. PS. Hand tight is tight enough...

So why can't you put it over your shoulder and fire it? I think Nick hooked you guys up with the updated handle, right? Couldn't a person somehow attach two 3" posts on the end of the barrel and in front of the eye of the shooter on the barrel, where you would line up the two posts' tops as a...

I can't say if an APTA would have performed better, but my frustration with my Big Shot there other day pushed me to purchase one. Time savings will pay for it over a half a year, maybe, especially with W-C rates going up.
