I was just cleaning up around my bench and I found a plastic chain guide that fits in the side cover. Not sure if it's off the 880 or one of my other saws. Check under the cover before you put the bar on. There's 7 and 8 pin 404 pitch sprockets in the small box.
Speaking of starting big saws, I need to post a warning for Craig if he's still following this thread. When you start that 880, you want to hold the decomp button down with your thumb while pulling the starter handle. Otherwise it will pop closed on the first engine revolution and the starter...
I absolutely love it! I bought mine new and had Bryan Wright port it about 6-8 months later. I put fuel in it and beat the piss out of it and little else. The original air filter gets checked about once every six months and I can sometimes get a little dust out of it with the air nozzle. I'm...
Craig, I got the boxes shipped out this morning. I tried buying a shipping tube for the bar but they wanted $11 for it and it was too short anyway, so I cut a couple plywood strips and screwed them together. Total shipping came to $133! :O If you cover $100 of it then we'll call it good.
When dealing with Brian Wright for saw porting, he recommended using USPS. He said UPS sucks up there and border issues are much worse using them. I'll get it wrapped up and shipped out tomorrow I hope.
Well if I were going to sell it anywhere other than here I would have started at $1500 and ended up around $1300 or so after bickering with some asshole who would probably rip me off if he could. Here I don't have those issues, and I'm getting $300 less than I paid for it. I'm good with that...
Looks like it's sold to the Guido with the big gold chain. ;) We just have to figure out the logistics now. If Gary and Paul are willing to help, please contact me and/or Craig. I wasn't actually expecting it to sell so quickly so I'll need to shop for shipping supplies tomorrow after work.
For those that may be faster or better at figuring shipping than I am, I just weighed the saw and it's 32.8 lbs. I will probably ship the bar separately since it's so long and I have extra chains and sprockets to add to the big box so I'm guessing the boxes will be as follows-
48" x4" tube or...
Most of you remember when I bought my 880 well over a year ago and had Brian Wright build it for me before shipping it down here. Well, I've used it three times it's just too much saw for me. I have over $1500 in it but will take $1200 plus shipping. I honestly don't have two hours of use on it...
