I never said he couldn't sharpen a chain. What I said was that the chain on this saw in this picture is dull. That is a fact and any half decent saw operator on this forum would have to agree. Anyone else here want to claim that this chain is sharp? Go ahead and look closely. Who else here...
A month or two ago I picked up a Stihl MS440 in awesome condition for $450. Even the bar and sprocket were in good shape. He had a new chain on it which he dulled in 2-3 cuts but I put an edge on it and have been using it quite a bit.
I think I had one many years ago that looked something like that. I want to say a 3700? Maybe 4400? But then I bought my first Stihl, an 038 Mag, and never used the Poulan again. I don't remember what happened to it but it was gone within 30 days of me buying the Stihl.
Isn't it weird that most small to midsize saws didn't have bucking dogs back then? I remember the first time I saw a Stihl 020T and was surprised by the steel dogs. These days you just expect the dogs to be there on every saw.
