I think that Deutz diesel is a 42hp, but I may be wrong. The gas motor for that chipper is a 35hp.

They are a decent trim chipper but no comparison to a 12" unit. I've run a couple rental units and I think it should be worth $3K or close to it. If you can match up a generic hydro motor then that's the way to go. Vermeer gets top dollar for putting that yellow paint on generic parts.
