    Yup, turning your knee out also turns the Pantin sideways. And if you have the ascender sideways to the rope then the rope will pop out. Try to keep your foot level.

    Darin, most people who have problems with the Pantin are using a leg motion similar to footlocking. When you push your knee out sideways, your foot turns up and the rope pops out. With the Pantin you need to keep your knees in and foot level like you're climbing a ladder.
