What do people think of as good sticker width, and spacing?

Mis-tint paint is $12/ gallon at Home Depot. I'd aim for more weight, as possibly, all stickers aligned. Seems to me that tacking the stickers to a vertical board with an little air-nailer would be a easy way to keep them lined up. I fight this battle, especially when I have 'help'...people...

You may want more blocks and stickers, vertically aligned, possibly moved to the very, very ends. Paint ends. Stickers and some stable, dry wood on top (2x's/ dry board/ plywood strip), then weight. You're looking for ripples, I think with those offset stickers.

If you have room, sticker-stacking with weight on top, or ratchet straps, etc, will reduce movement while drying.

No way, Merle. More like a $6-8k mill, new.

I read somewhere that if you sticker at the very, very end of the board, it reduces end-checking. Known people to put ratchet straps around the logs, probably right next to a sticker or over well trimmed stickers, to continue tightening the stack as it dries.

I have a chainsaw mill. Way too slow, too rough of finish, fumes, waste of material from the thick kerf and extra planing. Great for larger pieces, and when you have to cut stuff down for fitting onto a bandsaw.

Are you going to sticker-stack and weigh down the stacks? Did you paint the ends? What kinda mill? I've been so itching for some kind, but don't want to spend too little and have to upgrade too soon.
