    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

I don't have a fear of height. I have a fear of falling and stopping abruptly.

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

only 2.5" per side. Keep your truck centered in the lane, the trailer will follow. Those magnetic, telescopic alignment balls are good stuff for $8. Aligning the trailer coupler and ball, and moreso to extend your view of the trailer while backing up on a curve. A target cone, and...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

On TB there was a guy who did that. Its battery powered and radio control, IIRC. $3500ish in parts. http://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threads/electric-log-and-brushcart-treegoat.36158/ No wages or worker's comp. Much lighter than a mini. The AT is great at what it does. You will do less work...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

Get one or make one that better fits your location. Or both!! I love my AT. When I don't have to go through narrow spaces, I'd love a wider cart. Maybe one with 3 or 4 wheels, that can be winched up hill. Downhill is great.

Material handling carts are super useful, especially if the truck is downhill from the tree. If uphill, add some power to the pull.

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

Gravity and friction NEVER get tired, EVER. It was painful for me to watch my friend unload logs off my trailer this morning at his house. I gifted him a bunch of 8-13' doug-fir logs, small diameter, some dry, some green, some in the middle. 12"(-) diameter. He was telling me that his body...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

1' sides are too short. If you're buying new, they can make it any way you want. My flatbed didn't have 'stake pockets', nor chain hooks. My welder bought a piece of 2x4 tube steel, and cut the pockets. If you are going to have 4' stationary sides, just buy a metal sided trailer. It will...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

Let someone else be the big truck's provider and driver. Smile as the waste goes away. Doesn't firewood become more valueable as the temperature drops? There are always people looking for dry wood too late, it seems. Sell at the peak! You've made that potential-customer contact for tree...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

electronic info is great. I try to get on Google Maps when I'm in front of a computer/ tablet, and get a call. I can tell a lot about access that is not always evident from being onsite. Spending a bit of time, sitting on my couch, and talking to the customer while looking at a map during...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

Send people a picture before you drive over there. Those magnetic tow-hitch alignment balls are very, very worth the $8. Stick them on the sides of the trailer. Set up a target cone. It helps you to have an easy to see target that is not that one green bush, by the other green bush, by...

Go buy some rattle cans. Because it's a work truck doesn't mean it can't be one color (or close), and washed. You don't want to look like Itchy and Scratch, will work for meth tree guys. My chipper is 42 years old, and all white. Get some magnetic signs cheap at Vistaprint. Try to...

    5 Foot Wide Utility Trailer?

Sell it by the truckload. Is their yard smaller than the trailer??? You're overthinking this trailer thing. Again, if the trailer worries you, get out of hazard tree removal. Driving is the safest, easiest part of the day. Pedals and a wheel. Seat belts, truck built to withstand roll-overs.

I have a 12' tandem axle trailer that is strong like bull. Logs or loader/ grapple/ bucket/ small grinder fit. Easier to deliver firewood with truck and trailer. I generally sold only small load of firewood, to get on new customers properties. Now, I am too busy, and available handling/...

Side note: I deal largely with conifers and straight limbed Deciduous trees, like Maple and alder, some Birch, etc. Loading: One short wall/ 4' plywood on far side. Nothing on near side. Load height about 16" off ground. Toss/ Stack limbs oriented front to back, against far wall. It will...
