    More air

I got my 088 for $1400. Some of the backyards only have a small gate. What I have now is my test bed, see how it produces. It's working good, and I am always solo. I am in the process of making a bandsaw mill, but in my area not many people have logs and can woodwork. Now....if I cooked meth......

I do have a 115v 1/3hp blower, I was thinking I could weld up a dolly with hoses etc etc. But it would be.only good for residential milling, about 50% of what I do at the moment. It would take up some space in the f150.

This situation I was thinking about, instead of stopping and clearing the dust, finish the cut without having the filter plugged up. Not a huge issue, just one I'd like not to worry about...

That would be a tall order for me at the moment. I'd have to do testing, make sure it works. Are you in a rush?

I was considering that, Sean. I can fab a spacer out of aluminum. I think the housing will still suck up dust. The point I'm trying to make is I want to be lazy and not have to clean up saw dust..... :D

Hmmm... What size bar? For your 088?

I think a couple hours away. I like ideas.....

Blowers and dust collectors are good ideas, electricity is sometimes not there. Some places are so small, like todays, that the saw was just about spitting saw dust in the neighbour's yard!

Hmmm. As it is now, filter and housing get plugged, packed solid, when I mill close to the ground. I can reduce it by sweeping or shovelling the saw dust off the ground.

The yellow arrow is where a majority of air gets sucked up, and dust when milling close to the ground. Would the white holes (pointed by white arrow) be a good idea?

Interesting! Thanks. Edit: Would an elbow to mount an air filter up and away from the saw give good results when milling?

Food for thought. I'll start by keeping both the winter and summer shutters open. Once I get close to the ground it sure plugs up with dust quick!

Yup. That's why I was wondering if opening up the air filter cover a bit would be ok, since the 088 is my milling saw.

I've searched here and google with no results. Question. Would opening up an air filter cover on a Stihl give good results? I'm looking at my 088 that I use for milling.
