What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Thanks Al. I'm getting old, I remember when "O-rings" were like a nickel or less apiece!!!

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

I know the 200T very well, so I will be able to give an honest comparison. Already, I like the 'captive' bar nut and other screws. I've lost bar nuts on Stihl before...I like the threaded fuel caps a little better than the Stihl caps. With the Stihl caps, I've snapped them in 'off kilter'...

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Hey guy's/gals, I bought a Husky T540XP II and started it up today. I haven't cut anything with it yet, but I'm impressed with the torq and HP. This sucker is right up with the old 200T. I'll keep you updated on it as I cut down some burned up trees on my property...

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

I may get one. I do have a Husky T540XP II on order. Thought I'd give it a try. Been a Stihl man exclusively previous to the fire that burned down my house... Do you have the Echo? Care to share your experience/likes/dislikes??? Are they using Zama carbs???

I do all my own maintenance also. Was the T540 that you demo'd, a mark II with auto tune?

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Shoot, sometimes you do get a lemon with any brand. I had a 192T that was a lemon. Stihl wouldn't make it right for me either. I really wanted my money back... I'm looking at the new T540 XP® II. I wonder if it might have some improvements over a 2016 model?

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Thanks for chiming in Stump. I'm leaning towards trying one. I just talked to Husky and they said it has a WALBRO carb (AT-11). So, that's a huge plus in my mind... I've had nothing but problems with ZAMA... I watched a comparison video on youtube with a 201T. Looks like the T540XP cuts at...

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Yeah, all the Stihls are very sensitive about a dirty air filter. I've lost all power several times. To answer your question, the dealer was Buck's saw shop in Novato, CA. They sell Stihl, Husky, Echo, and probably a few others too... They're a good saw shop, but I usually take what they say...

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

I'm interested in saws that replace the 200T. I had a 192T and it sucked. Underpowered and had carb problems often... I'll never buy another one. But, that's interesting that you seem to like your 355T.

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

My local saw shop says the Echo 355T is not as powerful as the 201T. Any comments about that?

Thanks for the reply Jonny. I wonder if anyone out there who is using the Echo 355T can chime in and tell me what they think of it. I am looking at it.. What are you using to take the place of the 200T??

What saw should I get to replace the Stihl 200T?

Yep, they sure did... At first I was hearing bad things about the 201T. But, now they're okay? Are they using Zama carbs? I much prefer Walbro.

I lost my 200T in the Santa Rosa fires. What's the best replacement nowadays? I've heard bad things about the 201T...
