    Ya I do that when milling pine. Usually add a bit of Pinesol too. Seems to reduce the gummy buildup on the blade

    Narrower stickers! Put the end stickers right at the ends of the boards which will help somewhat in reducing the lumber splitting

    I think black locust lumber is decay resistant. Hope so, because I made my wife a garden planter thingy outta some locust 4x4's I milled a couple months ago .

    This Woodmizer is at a kid's camp in Costa Rica. I whacked some cypress there last Jan for a building project. The fellow that owns the mill removes the engine from it every night so that 2-legged vultures dont cart it off...

    Friend lent me this little Baker 18M mill that had been sitting unused for a few years. Engine took a bit of love and parts to get to finally run.

    9' log. Sugar maple. Milled everything 2-3/4" thick, and found the slabs are somewhat heavy to lift! Was taking us about 9-10 minutes on the widest dia. pieces which were about 30" on the butt end. Am a complete novice at milling, so I dunno if that time could be improved with better chain...

    Some maple my son and I milled last weekend. Kinda enjoyable, but white pine sure slices up easier and faster!
