Welcome oldachonoak!:) The Tachyon works/performs better in the "mechanicals", it has a much firmer core and doesn't flatten out so much. I've got a couple of different Tachyon climb lines (among all my others) and up until recently it's been my favorite to use with my Rope Runner...

I've done that also, it works great.:D I have also set my static line (base/canopy anchor) as an access line and tied an Alpine Butterfly and attached my work line and switched over when I reach my TIP. Zero bounce tree access and a work position line ready and waiting when I get...

HTP static line? :? I can't use it for descending out of the tree. "Easing" myself down works OK, but if I pick up any speed at all on either the Bulldog Bone or the Rope Runner there is nothing I can do with either device to get them to stop. I have to use my "free" hand to belay myself...

It's so very important to always be aware of gear (especially life support) and how it interacts with EVERYTHING around and on it. That is some great information to know and be aware of, thanks Gordon for passing that along.:D

Here's my most recent(3rd)climb on the 'Bone. Wanted to show the ease of the 'Bone going on and off the rope. It's a long video but gives a good idea of how easy it is to work with in less than ideal conditions.;) <iframe width="480" height="360"...

That ain't a bad idea.;) Would have to make sure the "attachment point" was rope friendly.....smooth and rounded.:)

I tried the D ring first, but with the rope walker system I have it wasn't as efficient as I would like. I hook the bungee from my knee ascender to a "chest harness" to tend with, the bungee was pulling the 'Bone out of alignment. I corrected it by using a second 'biner from my chest harness to...
