    How'd it go today?

We pay a high price in multiple ways, I guess. Being California born I am used to quakes and they don't really scare me. The scaredest I've ever been is when I went to Kansas to visit my daughter and there was a tornado nearby. I will take a shaker over a tornado anyday!!

    How'd it go today?

Jerry is great. He's been clearing brush and trees in our yard, which keeps an old guy busy. He tells me he is just taking a break from the forums. He'll be back eventually. Thanks for asking, Cory.

An interesting bit of information regarding the quake. Right after it happened I had a dentist appt and as I walked in the receptionist was on the phone with her daughter, who is an arborist in Humboldt County (where the quake happened). She was 100 ft up a redwood doing some limbing when the...

We had a nice visit with our good friends Greg Good (GRCS) of Wisconsin and Dave Nordgaard (Branch Manager and TNT Tree) of Minnesota. They came to town and confiscated Jerry for a trip up north through the redwoods. Always nice to see these two great guys!

I've had good results from Voltaren. It does a good job of knocking down the pain. I wouldn't use it daily but it's great for the really bad days.

Sitka looks like a nice little town. Austin I've read several books that tell of native children being sent to school in Sitka......could that Pioneer Home for Seniors be the same building as the old native school?

It'll get better, Stig. Took me a good 3 weeks before I had any strength or the least bit of energy. Took my lungs a lot longer, being a smoker. But I am glad to hear you are mending. (y)

    How'd it go today?

I'm sorry about your Mom, John. There is no easy way. In 1986 I took care of my 56 year old Mom at home, as she died from cancer. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Hospice came in once a day, as well as the doctor. I could not have done it without Hospice. Towards the end...

Old Lady Crush! Is that really a thing? I'm probably guilty of it. I've met a lot of younger than me treemen and there are some I really like. They represent the best of mankind. Strong, kind, intelligent, and self assured. Old ladies appreciate all that. I also like how they smell. Tree guys...

    How'd it go today?

My Dad was a commercial fisherman. During shrimp season I'd take my kids down to the dock while Dad was unloading and they'd sit there on the deck and pick shrimp and eat them raw until they were full. They loved it.

Ridiculous to close a major road for that. It wasn't even THAT good. I would have been mad, too. Were they local kids?
