    I think the terminology and nomenclature used in the article and all references to this insect are comical Murder hornets ffs! Slaughter phase! Loads of people die from bee stings all over the world. I mean you don’t want it, that’s for sure but they act like it’s an interstellar threat.

    With the Asian hornet (an invasive species here) it’s not the size, it’s smaller than our European hornet, its the aggression to us and the different way it attacks bee hives, which the bees can’t defend, apparently.

    Had a close thing with those Asians last summer, got right up a spruce before seeing the active nest, came back down very carefully before calling the exterminator. Guy near me very nearly killed by them, spent a long time in hospital, went blind for a while.
