Most chipper and grinder mechanics is child's play to agricultural engineers.

Part of it is they don't test the machines properly after a repair, you know, with wood. As far as they're concerned engine starts, rollers and flywheel turns, it's good to go. Keep at them, get the anvil turned for starters.

Yes the flywheel seems to slow too easily, too much gap perhaps between the blades and anvil?

I have done a lot of that, I just don't think I could ever go back to it.

Looks like fuel starvation or water in the diesel. Change filters, fuel lines and maybe clean the tank. Just my take mind.

Oh yeah, fill it up with clean diesel before refitting.

You can take off the metal filter, empty it out, wash it out with diesel. Will be better than before. Tip it out you can see clear water if there is any. That prefilter still looks choked. Should be able to get one from any motor factors.

Is it just me but that fuel filter seems blocked, there is no diesel on the engine side of the paper insert.

There should be another fuel filter further along the system, a metal one. Follow the fuel line to find it. Replace that in line filter, and buy a dozen more for for stock. Have you run the fuel low lately?

Change the fuel filter, you can pour out what's in it, you'll spot if there's water in the system.
