I don't care to hunt them Cory but I sure wish they'd let somebody do it. Just reduce the population by a few thousand and a little healthy fear of man is all they need. And by the way, they cancelled the 2016 hunt because of the "bears lives matter" protesters. No kidding. What was the...

A lot more lucky having no bears in my opinion.

Wow, those are some fine bucks! Willie, we go to tremendous lengths to keep the bears from smashing ours. My standard configuration is hanging them off a 30' wood pole with a few hundred nails with the heads cut off driven in backwards from waist to head high. I drill pilot holes and hold the...

Those big bucks will drive you batty with their super sensory perception Gary. If I think back on all the close encounters where they just knew something wasn't right and put the slip on me.......... Thanks Scott, it's a pretty cool place to hunt.

Wish I could say that Willie! Instinct shot for years, but my instincts were obviously not that good. How far was he?

Already got a couple of bucks Cory, looking for one or two in particular. I walked in mid-day to check a trail camera and unbeknownst to me, one of those bucks was bedded ten yards from the camera. I walked past him, knelt down to open the camera and he exploded out of the palmettos right behind...

Just got back from a little binge myself. Seeing gobs of deer, hogs and turkeys but didn't fire a shot. Dry as powder down here, we haven't had a rain in a couple of months. Got a water hole at one of my spots and it's crawling with critters coming for a drink.

Yeah Willie, he was fat as a ....... In fact, there was near zero blood because the fat on a healthy hog closes the holes up. She shot this one with a .270 and he only went about twenty yards but trailing a bow shot hog can be really tough. She was about as excited and proud a hunter as I've...

Took my partner and his daughter to the hunting lease today and she shot her first hog. She was so tickled she almost gave him a kiss. She's a natural, took her first deer with a bow a couple of weeks ago.

That's wide open country Jim. Making memories with Daddy's Princess, I love it. She's got Daddy's eyes. Cool pictures Willie, are those Roosevelt elk in your area?

Pretty cool indeed Scott. I was watching deer and turkeys out of a tree stand last week when a doe zeroed in on a little brush pile in the middle of all the activity. I grabbed my binoculars and spotted a bobcat that had obviously been laying there motionless all morning. She stomped and snorted...

This old gal has gotten quite used to my comings and goings on our hunting lease. She seems to know I'm not going to hurt her. Her yearling is a little more skittish than she is. I actually took the trail cam off a tree to take the selfies. Pretty good camera but can't set time and date anymore.

Thanks Jeff. Next week should be the peak of the rut on our lease and we've got a little cooler weather coming which will help things out too. The Florida rut is crazy. Our club property is about 75 miles due east of where I live and the rut is happening there now. Where I live, they won't rut...

It's Foley Land and Timber Cory. They're in the pine tree biz but they leave all the remaining hardwoods when they do a cut. Most timber companies hereabouts either cut or poison the hardwoods and drag a huge drum chopper across the clear cuts, which kills just about every living thing that...
