    Rope Runner Pro

Hey I thought I was the only one still using UltraTech. I think I actually prefer it to BeeLine, but they’re pretty close to the same thing. Wonderful cord in my humble opinion, I should get some new ones, mine are pretty old. The durability is incredible.

    Rope Runner Pro

I use a little scrap piece of throw line and keep a regular biner on my chest harness.

    Rope Runner Pro

Noted, and I agree, almost all advice from Dave is rock solid and backed by experience. I do midline attach every climb, usually from the ground. When I’m up the tree already, the old Runner is a bit of work to take on and off, and if I’m 4 or more hours into a climb my hands don’t work so well...

    Rope Runner Pro

Sorry if this was already asked and answered, but is the original Runner still being made? If I wanted to get another 20 years out of mine, should I get a few friction plates and pulley rebuild kits now, or is the plan for those to remain available in years to come?

A little twist on the Slic pin to depress the internal cotters without sticking your fingers in there, right?

    Rope Runner Pro

Such a stunning looking device though! I couldn’t decide if it’s prettier than the Akimbo though, she’s a babe too!!! :big-tongue3:

Looking forward to some reviews after some strenuous mileage.

    Rope Runner Pro

I got a feeling you’ll love it and there’s gonna be very little complaining about it all around. I trust reviews from Dave and it’s still the same functionality as the old RopeRunner with improvements. I’m never parting with my CMI one. I’d buy another if the price is right and we may see a few...

    Well that didn’t take long.

    Rope Runner Pro

I haven’t ordered one, I got some other bills I need to handle first. I do want one and it looks like it could definitely be my favorite SRT device but I am fine with what I already have. A gold CMI RopeRunner, RopeWrench, HH2 and Akimbo are plenty to keep me working and offers a bunch of...

You’ll always be able to tell which is yours if our HH2s gets mixed up ;) I’m just happy mine isn’t rusty.

Aside from droppable small parts, needing full finger dexterity to get it on the rope, and the thin little tending point, is there anything else, major or minor, you don’t like about the first gen RR?

    Rope Runner Pro

Good move sending one to Dave. I trust his reviews and advice. It might not always be glowing recommendations but it will be honest and intelligent feedback from a day to day working climber with a lot of time in the industry.

    Rope Runner Pro

It really is a pleasure to watch him go, eh? I’d have so much more free time if I could move that fast in a broad canopy.

    Rope Runner Pro

Sure looks like it’ll take 1/2” or 13mm rope, with room to spare. My hands start hurting after a few hours if I’m pulling myself around on 11mm.

    Rope Runner Pro

Looks stunning. I’m probably not gonna be first in line for one, since I like hearing/ reading reviews before purchasing gear like this, but I got a good feeling about it. Easier and faster on and off the rope, less chance of dropping parts, more comfortable beak probably (but I’m used to the...
