I'm sure not happy with the latest 201T. Overheating's the problem. My Stihl dealer informs me a repair kit will soon be available. Apparently a newly designed plastic barrier for the flywheel side of the engine, preventing it from becoming coated with sclurge n overheating. Jomo

Had Stihl used springs to keep 200T's mufflers well enough attached to the cylynder's to perform dependably despite temp variations between steel bolts n aluminum components? Worked a charm on two stroke dirt bikes of the late 60's n early 70's when moon shots were doable..... Bend or break...

I actually contacted Stihl USA headquarters to speak with one of their experts about the mufflers rattling loose. He asked me if I let the saw idle between cuts? I said no. He said that's the problem, to let the saw idle between cuts to stay cool. I believe him. Jomo

I don't doubt that a stock 200T used primarily for pruning and an occasional removal, would last for many good years. But I pretty much specialized in big strategic removals 6 days a week. Never got much more than two years before my mufflers rattled off, and no amount of new Belleville...

Seems like all the more reason for Stihl to design n build a bullet proof top handle trimsaw. They came close with the 020 AVE and the 200T. The new 201 ain't even close tho, after all these years.... Back to the drawing board lads........ Jomo
