    The Homebrew Thread?

Dude... Bass was brewed on the dark side of the stinkin MOON. NOBODY has a clue what's in that stuff. One of the best brews ever made imho. Rich: A ton of sense in that... never turn yer nose up at something you can't cook up yourself. Aright Levi: I'm gonna take a pic or two and then...

I just brewed an Imperial Russian Stout that's a bit over 9% that's in conformity with the German Purity (you spelled it better than I could, Jim) law. Picked up a hair of contamination somehow in the secondary fermentation... gave it a nasty sour taste. I'm still sluggen em down though. :|:

And you'd love it. Not very much hops at all. I can't keep that stuff in the fridge. My dad and my friend Tim get more of it than I do. They call it a "Farmhouse Ale," whatever that's supposed to mean. Tastes a bit like Heffeweitzen, if that helps.

Sorta, Jim... Northwestern IPA is just ale with a ton of hops in it which many people hate, but it's what I got in the pot right now. Ain't braggin... just showin off... The bottles are Double Black IPA @ about 8.2% abv. In the primary fermenter is a single amber IPA @ about 6.4%. I'm...

Yeah... espesially with your new Mullet. Mick: I would only put it down altogether under great duress.

Oh, no Mick. I had just been hitting it a wee bit too hard, and writing stupid stuff on here. (I'm thinking you overheard something I said to Willie about laying off a bit or something... for me that means sticking to two beers.) I drink two or three now. My wife likes two better than...

Just met a guy up the hill who does this. They came over to the house for tea (he's from England), and now he's got me itchin' to get all set up. He's got what he calls a full-on kegerator--nitris, CO2, and everything. He brews a nice, light, drinkable Manny's style pale.

So what kind? I'd be really interested in a What Kind of Beer do You Drink and Why thread. You can't tell me that taste is everything, and that nobody but me is interested in what kinds of beer tend not to give them headaches.

Ahhh... well... Ya see... everything hinges on one's definition of moderation. :P

Now there's moonshine, and then there's moonshine. The transplants from Serbia in my neck of the woods (Boeing and Microsoft folk predominantly) make a wonderful brandy that's only about fifty proof. They can use pears or plumbs or, as they say, "anything." Man, that stuff is smooth as silk...

Me too, I have two different friends who both have stills. They always tell me, "If your beer don't turn out... run er through this and she will!" ;)

Just putting some feelers out there. My wife just made me a Double Black I.P.A. that's got me about half-way to the moon right now. Just curious as to whether this possible thread could have legs. Anybody else out there doing this stuff? I'm just thinking, "Where's this beer been my whole life?"
