    Would have enjoyed that life years ago!! Hard work but provisions all sorted. I find I can still work hard at times but it’s the going home and going straight into domestic chores and kids school life exhausts me!!!

    I will also gut a hinge on trees that I know are going to get caught up and not come to ground. When your winching the tree off the stump and you have to remove the remaining hinge to do so I only have to work the saw on the outer edges of the tree rather than under to get the middle lessening...

    Thanks for the comments guys. Definitely got to be low for commercial felling but can see the advantages of cutting high in a domestic/urban setting. The swept grain from the buttresses can cause hinges to run or shear real easy on shorter grained species when cutting low though. Pete- good to...

    Hi all, very long time and no postings (sorry Butch!) life does seem to get in the way!! A few photos I just found on the phone from an old fashioned line thinning from the other year to a couple of some hardwoods felled for a friend when I’m allowed out to play still!
