I think with a grapple on the ex, like with a mini, healing the load or even steering it is a huge benefit. The thumb is great, but a grapple is awesome. I have a quick attach, so switching to a bucket is nothing. I agree, push it pull it, lop the stump, and stuff it in the chipper is awesome...

Now you're talkin 21st century. How does one add hydraulic circuits? I am sure it is just plumbing, and I have heard of solenoids, but what is involved?

My biggest problem is Hydraulics. I only have enough for the grapple. If I disconnect, I can run the BMG. That is why I figure a conversion plate would be best. Short money for the short term, then go with what is built for the machine. My biggest problem is getting used to everything being...

I was checking out that rigid rotator on my buddies ex. I am not sold. I think I can weld an adapter to a bobcat quick connect and use the BMG I already have. Short term and short money. In the end I will probably get a hanging grapple and use the thumb to heal a load if necessary. Well see.

I guess the limited times I saw the Beak I confused it with a Ripper. I still have my Boxer with BMG, so I as thinking a ripper would add to the fleet and a rigid rotator would be best. I do have a thumb so healing a load would not be impossible. What are you thinking?

For weight consideration I was thinking something along the lines of Valby's 36 w/ a rigid rotator. If I can adapt a BMG to do the same, I may. One of my competitor friends just put a Valby50" w/ rigid on his new 331 or 32(?) and it is too heavy IMO. It really reduces your lifting capabilities...

Hey Carl, I have a couple questions. What happened to The Beak? Also, since I just got a mini excavator, Does BM make a grapple to fit a Bobcat 331? I can get a Valby direct, but would rather spend "in House" if possible.

26000 lbs for non CDL 26001 and you had better be licensed. That is combo weight for truck and trailer.

No. Same with a mini Jay. When I "heal" a log I have less capacity with my machine than if I picked it up in the middle and rolled it closer. Forks are an excellent example of this.

Excellent Scott. FWIW, I ran my 427 Brute side by side with a buddy's Dingo322 and schooled him on moving wood and brush. I could have lifted that machine into the truck as well, but felt that I would have been showing off. I am really happy with the Boxer just looking for a more well...

I'd like to be the second, but will probably be the tenth. I am still considering a 340. I just have to play my financing games.
