I just read an article about a dude in Detroit that had his hands and feet chewed off by pit bulls. They had to wait for the cops because no one had a gun and could not get the dogs off.
No problem. I don't have all the answers that is for sure, but I have been doing it for 20 years. Dillon 550 is a good press. Dillon is a good company.
Probably other reloaders here too, I think Chris (tucker) is a reloader too.
Up to you Butch. We were kind of on a tangent and I felt like we were not cluttering up the other thread. No worries.
I dont reload for handgun or shotgun. I bought cases when everything was cheap a long time ago. If I want something different, my gunsmith friend usually has it. He has...
My buddy likes FN too. He is the only one on his sub that still has a current machine gun qualification. When they steam into a foreign port he guards the sail of the sub with a M240!
I like the 10mm pretty well. If anything mine is too light with the FBI load that you used to be able to...
I got some Beretta mags marked us govt! My buddy is in the Navy. I have an older DPMS that I still need a rear sight for. I have a Bushnell Holo sight on but I need a set of sights for when the stoopid batteries go dead. Those look good.
I have not had any experience with Pmags yet...
One of my pet loads is 74 grains of US 869 behind a 142 grain MK. Not the fastest, but quite accurate through my .264 Sendero. The .26 Nosler is only 100 fps faster for ten more grains of powder. The most modern powder people have tried in .264 is IMR 4350. I am pleased to see people trying...
Give me the good ole .221 fireball. Necked up to .30 does not interest me.
My friend the gunsmith built me an ar-15 with a 22 inch barrel for letting him hunt some of my land exclusively. What caliber? .221 fireball!
He said he has a stock for me but asked if he could use the barrel for...
That was a nice shot, especially at night. I hate coyotes. Foxes too.
God damn coyotes get bigger and more brazen in the East. Out here they are pretty wary, but I have plugged a few at close range. They are hard on calves and lambs. Sometimes they will start eating before the calf or lamb...
Well, my gunsmith informed me today at a funeral today that he found a barrel in his shop for my project rifle.
It is a Pac Nor stainless No.5 contour. I was kinda leaning towards a No.4 Lilja, but barrels are kinda scarce right now.
What do you say Chris/tucker943? Had any experience...
What about the BPCR game? I find the old single shots firing black powder rounds to be fascinating. Not too expensive to get started.
You are right about long range shooting. I SHOULD NOT do it as i have not practiced. I stay with about three hundred yards.
A high power scope does not...
Yeah, you would not recognize a single rifle in today's deer blind as looking like your father's or grandfather's rifle. The current rage is AR-15's and heavy barreled bolt rifles. People seem to like them for hunting. Not my cup o' tea, but who am I to say anything.
While not directed to me I would like to share my opinion. I personally find the long range shooting of un-wounded game to be unethical. Technology of today aids hunters in shooting at longer ranges, however we are still shooting at a live animal. If shooting at a steel target at 800 yards...
