Guess I've gotten so used to just forwarding my line without a weight, it never occurred to me to use one. As for the snaps I was only referring to the ease of getting them attached/unattached as compared to tying a knot or using a biner (much easier/quicker for me anyway).

Nope, I do as Gary does and advance my climb line ahead of me if limning on the way up. For Butch and I it's very easy as we use snaps for a termination on our climb lines.

I use the same pads w/steel spurs. :lol:Grendel your not alone. I managed to spike both my other foot and my climb line on the first tree I went up in spurs. :|:

FFZ, do you know what size saddle you take? Sizing on Buckinghams is small 28-32 med 32-36 lrg 36-40 Xlrg 40-44 Not sure if other brands size the same.
