Have you ever worked on a rocket mass heater? I follow an off grid family on YouTube in Idaho that heats a small cabin with two cords of Doug fir every winter. Very neat.
I think Southern Yellow Pine is an exception to the btu thing with all the pitch in it. I burn whatever I can get in my OWB, but I prefer softwood slabs. No ash, fast cycle times, and I have to get rid of them somehow. Burning 1/4 to a 1/3 of a cord per day right now.
You have to read the plot. Basically two different sides fighting over butter side up and butter side down until they each have a bomb that will kill the whole planet.
What did you have to do while you were on duty, Butch? A friend of mine was on the Mauna Loa in the mid to late 60's. He said there were a lot of different watches, but none were 12 hours. He ran the engines. The only one that could change directions without stalling them.:lol:
