    Yeah, it was for the finish detail, I kinda forgot to mention that.:roll: Plasma is sweet for this kind of work. If you had a pattern, you wouldn't even need to grind them. Even if it's cheaper to buy something like chainsaw dawgs, it's a fun learning experience to make your own.:)

    One of my blacksmith buddies made a jig that holds a 4" angle grinder on it's side, and has a small table, maybe 4" square. He makes maple leaf blanks on it, and you just slide the blank into the blade and grind out the profile. Would be really handy if you were making a lot of that kind of stuff.

    I agree with your disagreement.:) I'm not worried about loosing an inch or so of bar length. I want the saw to dig in and not slide around on the front of the case. You may not need dogs on a 16" bar, but it takes a lot of leverage to swing a long bar through the wood, as most of us know.

    Actually all I've got to do is drill the holes on the outside dog a little bit further ahead. I might also have to grind the back of it so it can slide back on the outside cover. It's never been a problem, and I've been spoiled having real dogs on the 036. I don't care for using saws with only...

    Do you have any dogs for it? Just the small one that comes on it? I bought 066 dogs for my 036, one sticks out a little bit farther than the other. I'm with Butch, make them like no other dogs out there. Do you have a plasma cutter? That would make it really easy. I'd make them look like...
